A Week With Coin Strike

A Week With Coin Strike

June 27, 2026 · Lukas Vogel

We don't usually give a single arcade game a full week, but Coin Strike kept ending up back on everyone's screens. The pitch is dead simple: flick metal discs across a board to knock the others off, keep yours in play, clear the table. That's it. And that's enough.

The reason it works is the feel. Dragging back to aim and letting go gives you a clean, weighty release, and the discs collide with proper physics so a lucky ricochet can save a bad shot. Over the week I got noticeably better at reading angles, which is the best sign a game has real skill under its simplicity.

My tip after all those rounds: resist the urge to aim for the biggest cluster. Picking off the edge pieces first opens the board and sets up chain shots later. The moving platforms in the mid-game ruined me until I slowed down and let the board settle before each flick.

It's not deep in the story sense, there's nothing to read or collect beyond a stage counter. But as the thing you open while the kettle boils, Coin Strike is close to ideal. One-thumb, one-minute rounds, and a satisfying thunk every time you connect.
