Nitro Drift Lane
★★★★☆ 4.1
Nitro Drift Lane isn't about top speed, it's about sliding. You tap to brake into a corner and the car breaks loose into a drift you steer by tilting or with on-screen arrows, filling a boost meter the longer you hold it clean. Chain enough drifts and you fly down the straights.
The tracks are short loops through a stylised neon city, and learning each one's rhythm is the fun. My first laps were a mess of walls and lost boost; by the tenth I was threading corners without lifting off the slide. That learning curve is the whole appeal.
Tilt steering is a touch twitchy, so I switched to buttons and never looked back. If you like arcade racing over realism, it's a quick and pretty way to kill twenty minutes.
What we liked
- Drift chaining that rewards practice
- Great sense of speed on short loops
- Button controls if tilt isn't your thing
