Lantern Hollow
★★★★★ 4.5
Lantern Hollow is a slow, warm adventure game. You arrive in a fog-bound village and wander it tapping to examine things, talk to a handful of odd residents, and slowly piece together why the lanterns keep going out. It's more about mood than puzzle difficulty.
The art and sound do a lot of the heavy lifting. Rain taps the windows, floorboards creak, and the muted colours make the whole place feel lived-in and a little melancholy. Puzzles are logical and never resort to pixel-hunting, which I appreciated.
It's short, maybe three hours, and it doesn't overstay its welcome. If you want something quiet to play before sleep rather than a reflex test, Lantern Hollow fits perfectly.
What we liked
- Beautiful atmospheric art and sound
- Fair, logical puzzles with no pixel-hunting
- A cosy length that respects your evening
